Additional Notes Now confirmed that was built at Stratford (rather than at York) for Hook Continental services. P 1981 by SRPS, at Falkirk till Dec 1987. Converted as breakdown train running van. Poor condition, stored indoors. End 2/3 compartments of the brake extended into compartment area. As in Departmental use. However, initial survey for restoration undertaken by 08/12 and work planned to start in 2015. 08/16: work delayed by problems discovered on Gresley TK 10021 (qv) but this carriage still scheduled as the next Gresley vehicle for overhaul. 07/24: serious work ongoing for some time now: panels have been stripped where necessary and the brake end is in process of being reconfigured to its original specification; recycled teak framing has featured in the process; much new and recycled framing has been involved and removal of BR modifications for breakdown train use; body lift planned to allow repair of underframe.
