Originally No. 51; renumbered in September 1923 as GWR 6383. Prior to withdrawal in August 1928 it was reported as being downgraded to a 1st/3rd Composite, with a renumbering to GWR 8098, but it is thought this latter number was never carried or that No. 6383 was reinstated (ref. E.R.Mountford). Believed not moved onto site in Bovington, Dorset until 1940s - possibly after use in internal troop trains because location is beside track bed leading from Wool to Bovington Camp. By 12/22: sold to a local carpenter, reportedly to turn it into accommodation. | Owner | Private | Rarity | n/a | Operating | No | Photo Date | 14/09/2019 | Photo by | Steve Ehrlicher | At Risk | No | Date Record Last Updated | 25/08/2024 |
