P 1979 privately, on West Somerset Railway until 1983 then Severn Valley Railway until sold to GS&WR 1989; held by HLPG due to dispute over restoration fees for the other five cars: converted at Carnforth to Kitchen Car: Craigentinny, Millerhill, Carlisle Upperby, then Euston. Ownership transferred to the Belmond Group early 2014. As at 02/15: in Royal Scotsman Set BT55 based Carnforth, operationally based at Edinburgh Craigentinny (Summer only). 11/17: now in Set EC00, operationally based at Edinburgh Craigentinny (Summer only), with Winter maintenance by Arlington Fleet Services Limited at Eastleigh Works. . Arrangements further updated in 2019: The Royal Scotsman now based at Assenta Rail, Earnock Sidings / E.G.Steele site, Hamilton. 9/23 suffered significant internal damage to kitchen at Aviemore after a rough shunt with steam locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman. Taken by road to Hamilton to be repaired. 11/24: reported that air conditioning and new style windows will be fitted during Winter refresh.
