Additional Notes Type B. P 1979 privately, on West Somerset Railway until 1983, then Severn Valley Railway. Sold to GS&WR 1989 and rebuilt with end verandah as Observation Car for new 'Royal Scotsman': Based at Carnforth. Operationally based at Craigentinny (summer only), also by 1995, for a time, at Euston Downside. Ownership transferred to the Belmond Group early 2014. 11/17: set allocation updated from BT55 to EC00 along with winter stabling / maintenance transferred from Carnforth to Arlington Fleet Services Limited at Eastleigh. Arrangements further updated in 2019: 'The Royal Scotsman' now based at Assenta Rail, Earnock Sidings / E.G.Steele site, Hamilton. 09/23 : suffered significant internal damage at Aviemore after a rough shunt with steam locomotive 60103 'Flying Scotsman'; taken by road to Hamilton to be repaired. New double-glazed windows fitted for start of 2024 season - to be followed by air conditioning for 2025 season.
