Additional Notes | Type D. P 1979 NYMR privately, then on to DMU bogies from BR 59098/9 (q.v.). Asbestos stripped 1990, 1997 and Autumn 2001. To Heysham 07/00 to 05/01 for repairs. Totally gutted interior now in use as store (seats). Protective all-over grey undercoat. By 12/17: restoration work well under way at Llangollen Railway; it will be returned to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) for painting. By 12/18: now moved back from Llangollen to NYMR - via Nemesis Rail, Burton-upon-Trent for work to be done on its running gear. Inaugural run 18/02/2019: 3-year restoration project has restored the car interior as introduced on the East Coast Main Line in 1960 - only surviving 1960/1 Parlour First with original style saloon and coupés. |
