| Additional Notes | Ex-Departmental condition. Awaiting restoration, sheeted, on Bluebell Railway. Sold to Kent & East Sussex Railway (KESR) 2003 and held at Northiam - and still there at 02/17. 07/19: moved from KESR to Eastleigh Works for full refurbishment by Arlington as a Kitchen Car (kitchen to fitted out on return to Tenterden); vehicle being modified to suit future operational needs at KESR with some windows blocked off and some doors widened to one and a half units to enable easier access for equipment and passengers with disabilities (partial grant for this work received from European Leader Fund, managed by Kent County Council). 07/21: returned from Eastleigh Works to KESR - restored with vacuum brakes. 03/23: restoration completed and entered service as kitchen car in the K&ESR’s Wealden Pullman: altered to suit new role; also fitted with a Guards brake compartment; carries the designation of ‘Kitchen Car’ Pullman style livery. |
