Additional Notes 650 v 3 rail Class 503 EMU. P 1991 Wirral Borough Council: stored BR Kirkdale till sold 1996 to Mersey & Tyneside Elec Pres (MATEP): to Steamport 9/96, then to Coventry 1999. Largely intact internally. Some corrosion problems loom. Displayed with 29289 and 28690 (qv) - owned by Heritage Electric Trains Trust. 30/05/2018: following closure of Electric Railway Museum at Coventry, now located at Locomotive Storage Ltd site at Westwood, Margate (part of Hornby works, being planned for a future public railway heritage attraction to be called the One:One Collection). 02/24: Heritage Electric Trains Trust has decided to retain 28690 (qv) to tell the story of Class 503 EMUs but to scrap the other two vehicles in the unit, this one and 29289 (qv), after recovering useful components. By 03/24: disposed of for scrap to J Watson & Sons, Stafford.
