Additional Notes | The prototype utility van. In 1919 used to transport Edith Cavell's body on repatriation and later that year the body of Captain Charles Algernon Fryatt; in 1920 it was used to transport the body of 'The Unknown Warrior' on his final journey to Westminster Abbey. P 1991, stored Hoo Junction till 1992, on KESR (proper) till 1994; then Robertsbridge Station Yard until back to K&ESR late 2004. Fully restored: re-dedicated 10th November 2010 and now on display at Bodiam, with exhibition (and coffin!). (Gifted to Colonel Stephens Railway Museum by late John Miller in 2010). |
