Additional Notes | Built with 2 1st compts each with lavatory: when to IoW 4/49 these and lavs converted to 2nd Saloon compartment. In final steam working. P 1966, at Newport till 1971. Only surviving SECR vehicle with First Class provision. SR Green livery. 07/14: OOU, awaiting attention to its underframe which is shown in the additional photo below. 07/16: underframe awaiting delivery to contractor for new headstocks and solebars. As a result, at 06/16 body (as shown in the main photo) accommodated on the underframe from SR GUV 4589 (qv) which is destined eventually for LCDR 1185 (4115) (qv). 02/20: underframe repairs completed and body moved onto it (releasing SR 4589). 07/20: restoration work nearing completion, having been delayed by the Covid-19 'lockdown'. 03/21: now ready to go into traffic. |
