Additional Notes | Originally built for the broad gauge but with a standard gauge body (566 or 571) having four Third Class compartments and a central Guard's compartment. Put on a standard gauge u/f ca. 1894 (2033 or 2038) - see photo below, courtesy Richard Spratt. Later converted to four compartments with two central lavatories and an end luggage compartment. W 1931. 2003 donated to Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway (LMMR) following death of previous owner who had it grounded in Llanelli, from where recovered to Llangennech and then to Cynheidre (6 miles N of Llanelli) 11/07. Long-term restoration project for LMMR. 01/18: noted that one of the doors bears the number 8547. 01/18: reported that the current plan was to mount the two GWR carriages owned by LMMR on the underframes of tube wagons ADB 730579 and ADB 732744 then purchased by the Railway. 11/21: carriage moved from LMMR to Llanelli Goods Shed where its restoration will be undertaken by the Llanelli Railway Goods Shed Trust. |
