Additional Notes | Built 1995 for Beamish as a replica of an open third carriage built in 1825 for Stockton & Darlington Railway (see additional photo below). 04/16: body rebuild completed (on existing underframe) at Beamish Regional Heritage Engineering Centre to covered third, based on design by W and A Kitching for Stockton and Darlington's development of passenger services from 1834. Panels have been completed in solid pine recovered from dismantled church pews. Livery is based on a watercolour in the Beamish archive collection. Used on the Pockerley Waggonway at the Museum. 07/21: re-entered service after being repaired and repainted in green livery based on that of the Londonderry Railway's 'Wellington' coach. |
