| Additional Notes | Converted to Kitchen-Buffet in 1947. P Bluebell 03/62. Sheffield Park's buffet until 1981. Only surviving SR catering vehicle. Then partially sheeted on Ardingly branch; much rot - interior will need to be restored from scratch. Planned eventually to form part of Maunsell set. By 11/09 coach assessed, dried out and now fully tarpaulined. Subject to success of fund raising exercise, full restoration should follow. By 08/15: sheeted on Ardingly branch awaiting restoration. 2019: moved to Horsted Keynes station sidings. 2022: moved to HK shed yard sidings for asbestos stripping. Teak to rebuild the body structure has been obtained. Spring 2023: work started on components which could be removed from it such as internal doors, and brass sliding vents; construction of seating commenced. |
