Additional Notes | Body grounded ca 1936. Unique example, but similar to 9002 (formerly at Aberporth). Renumbered 1907. Out of service May 1936. Eight-wheeled clerestory with unusual overhanging roof at coupe end. Was used in a Royal train on at least one occasion: see Patrick Kingston's "Royal Trains" pages 10 and 11. This was at Welshpool, carrying the Prince and Princess of Wales on a three-day tour of Wales in 1896. In use as holiday chalet "Min-y-Mor" at Aberporth. Lots of original features (e.g. sink, seating). By 2011, an extensive internal / external restoration has been completed to a very high standard. |
