Additional Notes Built with balconies at each end as the North Wales Division Inspection Saloon (Mr. Dawson's Saloon) and which he took with him to Crewe on his promotion in 1903. Apparently not needed to have been numbered until the LMS takeover when it became 45023. Noted as displaced at Wolverton in 1945 it would then have been converted to 'Chief Engineer Weed Killing Train No. 2' riding van further to having the balcony at the new gangway end filled in and numbered DM 198822 (see second additional photo below). Finally withdrawn in November 1964. Arrived from Woodhams, Barry, in 1968 and currently used as storage shed on private site near Llansantffraid-in-Elwel, Powys. By 04/23: moved from Llansantffraed-in-Elwe to Plas Y Cadno Campsite, Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys; plan is to restore it as camping accommodation, but PLEASE NOTE that this is a working farm and the carriage body is not on public view. External structural condition: both side bottom rails have disintegrated; now on steel joists.
