Additional Notes Originally WCJS convertible sleeper / day saloon. To LNWR 1883: converted to Family Saloon, rebuilt as Engineers' Inspection Saloon 1903. W 1945. Oldest surviving WCJS coach and also the oldest surviving ´public use´ sleeping car. In use as dwelling in Bedford 1945-82. Donated to Quainton Road 09/1982 - repainted and placed onto GNoSR 4-wheel (ex 6-wheel) chassis (MoD 48103) - intention is to mount it eventually on a more suitable chassis. In Museum by 02/00. 11/23: a PMV chassis is currently being prepared take this body.
