Additional Notes Built 1886-1895. Chassis re-used 1932 as underframe for LMS CCT 5012 (qv). To industrial use with British Steel at some point. Preserved at Rutland and then Swindon & Cricklade. Two buffer turrets have been changed in opposite corners by British Steel. CCT body scrapped (having become very rotten) 06/08 and chassis moved to Midsomer Norton to be re-used again for restoration of body of MR 255 (qv). 20/12/2010: attached to MR 255. 29/06/20: moved with MR 255 from Midsomer Norton to East Somerset Railway. 12/21: acquired by MR 255/1753 Trust. Running boards, vacuum cylinder and associated pipework installed 2025. Wooden chassis are not common.
