Additional Notes Newport Division Engineer's Saloon (hence 'Newport Saloon'). P 1967. South Devon till sold 1993, again 2002. Reupholstered in past (by SDR?) in deep-buttoned red plush. Has however deteriorated over many years in open storage. Main framing is essentially sound and restoration has begun. However, by 08/11 stored following death of private owner. Advertised as for sale 01/12. Reported 04/14 as sold to a private owner, with intention to be restored off-site: understood this will include constructing a new body. Sheeted by 05/14. However a (presumed) change of plan saw body rebuild starting on site 03/15, not helped by repeated wind damage to the protective tarpaulin - this is an exposed site! Reported as leaving Pontypool and Blaenavon for restoration at a private site in South Wales.
