Additional Notes Built Munich as DB second class carriage. To 4-MOD Army ambulance train carriage 12/78 - converted to carry 33 stretchers: British Army of the Rhine ambulance trains were an important aspect of the Cold War medical planning where rail would have played a major role in any conflict in Europe. W 1989. To Marchwood Military Port 08/1992 via RCT landing craft 'Arakan'. Restoration at Marchwood by volunteers from 275 Railway Squadron & Ambulance Train Squadron. To Museum of Military Medicine at Keogh Barracks, Mytchett, Surrey, GU12 5RQ. 09/1993 and at 12/17 confirmed still there (as shown in additional photo), standing on WW2 rails and sleepers from Marchwood Military Port. 09/23: reported intended for the new Museum of Military Medicine planned for Cardiff Bay - and, by 12/23, moved to Reid Freight Services site at Cockshute Sidings, Stoke on Trent (see final additional photo below).
