Confirmed built 1873 at Stoke Works. Body grounded c 1909 as holiday home in a wood at Loggerheads. Disused from c 1960, P 1985. Only First Class North Staffordshire Railway to survive. Number now known to have been 228 (not, previously-advised, 28). By 10/10 partially restored, sheeted, outside, resting on tippler wagon underframe (23002). Transferred on 99 year loan from the North Staffs Railway Company to the Knotty Coach Trust. 02/17: moved to Stanegate Restorations, Haltwhistle, Northumberland for restoration work. |
