One of nine DMUs to Winfrith 2004 by Dorset CC/Swanage Railway in advance of running to Wareham. However, with need for site clearance this plus 51356 and 59492 to Weardale 3/07. By 3/10 all three to Allelys Yard, Studley, Warwickshire. Then to Swanage by 11/14. By 08/18: at Eastleigh Works for conversion to mainline running for Swanage Railway, involving: heavy repair (delayed due to corrosion found on u/f's); new engines (not yet fitted) and bogies; central door locking fitted to some doors with remaining ones locked out of use/sealed. Following overhaul of 117 set at Eastleigh, now returned to Swanage - stored (source of spares?) |
