Additional Notes Originally purchased as two four-wheel carriages - 4-wheel 1st A9 and 4-wheel 2-compt 3rd + Brake C13 both built by Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co in 1874. By 1881 these two carriages had become close coupled and were later mounted on a new steel underframe, again supplied by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co. Ltd in 1909 to become “pair” F.68. Withdrawn from service 1974. Saved from scrap by Peter Rampton along with several others and moved to Hambleton, Surrey in 1975 forming part of Collection X and later the Phyllis Rampton NG Railway Trust. Moved to VoR 2024.
