Built for Pier Railway (3ft 6in): rebuilt Brush 1911 end bulkheads. To Volks Electric Railway 1949 as No. 8 (original 8 now 5). To Southend Pier Museum 1999 but was in open on pier itself and suffered vandalism. Was to go to Sandford Mill Museum, Chelmsford at end 2004, but this did not take place; went instead to a private site in Essex. The car was transferred to Chelmsford's Sandford Mill Museum in 2015, then to Alan Keef, Ross-on-Wye for cosmetic restoration and to Chelmsford Museum at Oaklands Park in the city in December 2018, displayed in a glass compound behind the museum. |
