Located beside the Swanage Railway in the rear garden of a private house in Kings Road West, Swanage. Believed by owner to have been first a dwelling, then a scout hut in Wales and finally a shed following withdrawal. From the photo above, the external detailing on the doors suggests a GER 5-compartment second. (A North London Railway third could just be a possibility but the roundels on the doors would normally be more oval than the photo shows). There is very little in the way of original brass work, what there is has no stamps on it, and the majority of the internal woodwork has been covered over. 05/26: confirmed still in situ. Any further information on this vehicle would be welcome. |
