Additional Notes P pre 1977 as Support Coach for 'Blue Peter'. At Dinting until 1986, then to ICI Wilton. 1992 to Llangollen. Part of one side had rotted and fallen off, with part of the remaining frame also rotten. Restoration well advanced by 07/12, by which time all the frame repairs had been completed, body reclad in new steel, and in undercoat for a BR crimson lake and cream livery finish. All compartments had been removed in Departmental days; passenger half restored instead as an open saloon with First Class style seating to accompany Buffet Lounge car 1706, with double doors at the brake end providing disabled access. By 08/18: restoration almost finished; moved to North Norfolk Railway, sold to M&GNJRS. Original restoration concept of conversion to Brake First Open retained, but significant areas being improved or replaced following assessment; disabled access bulkheads reconfigured, further sliding ventilators fitted, additional oval windows added to accessible end, floors and wall internal panels replaced; further work to interior and exterior requires completing before entry into service as a 27 seat saloon. To be the second vehicle in the proposed 5-coach 1950s era LNER set, providing accessible access.
