Additional Notes Pantry added 1909, Withdrawn 1927 and moved to Howden, East Yorkshire and used as a house and then latterly as a shed/workshop for a neighbouring allotment. Body acquired c.1988 by private owner (reportedly to use as a restaurant at a pub) and initially moved to Holme-on-Spalding Moor for restoration work; put onto underframe and bogies ex LNER 6450; may have been on a farm at some point but latterly left outside and deteriorated rapidly; then threatened with scrapping 01/98, but to new private owner and to Embsay 1999 where restoration started. To Wabtec Doncaster for 07/03 open day where it remained for alterations to ride height/springing. Whilst there, sold to Doncaster College, whose plans then changed. 10/09: with aid of PRISM grant, purchased by LNER Coach Association and to North Yorks Moors Railway 04/10 for full restoration, including to go on to a more appropriate underframe. 04/17: still on underframe from LNER 6450 (qv) but underframe from LNER BTK 62540 (qv) has been shortened in preparation to take this body. By 06/18: this body is now mounted on LNER 62540 (qv). 08/22: restoration still progressing - see additional photo below. 01/26: restoration nearing completion.
