Additional Notes Bain designed. 7 compartments + luggage compartment. Three centre compartments were first class but downgraded to third in 1930. Sold to Ashington Coal Company in 1946 and then ownership transferred to NCB 10/1949. P 1968 from Ashington Colliery: stored at Templetown Works, Consett until 1971 when to Beamish where restored. Now fitted with vacuum brake. On loan to Tanfield by 03/08, then Stainmore Railway for 150 celebrations 08/11. Back to Beamish 09/11. Overhaul and repaint carried out from late 2018. 05/21: moved from Beamish to Kirkby Stephen East on a 5-year loan. Recent further research based on documentation at The Head of Steam Museum, Darlington and at Beamish now points to this vehicle being originally NER 818. 08/25: restoration work completed.
