Additional Notes Type B. Ex CCE Glasgow Staff Coach. Body P 1981, at Casterton until 1987. At Carnforth for conversion to static restaurant by 1990. By 05/00: OOU and derelict, much missing from underframe, interior largely gutted. In poor shape. By 08/19: purchased by Assenta Rail and moved to the Earnock Sidings / E G Steele site in Hamilton. 07/23: being converted for use in revised formation for The Royal Scotsman Train. 29/04/24: entered service with The Royal Scotsman as the new State Car No 1 (directly replacing 99961); now contains two Grand Suites plus a mid-car double; the Car is known to staff at ‘Magpie’. 04/25: in operational Royal Scotsman set for 2025.
