One of nine DMUs to Winfrith 2004 by Dorset CC/Swanage Railway in advance of running to Wareham. However, with need for site clearance this plus 59492 and 51392 to Weardale 4/07. By 3/10 to Allelys, Studley, Warwickshire. Then to Swanage by 11/14. By 08/18: at Eastleigh Works for conversion to mainline running for Swanage Railway, involving: heavy repair (delayed due to corrosion found on u/f's); new engines and bogies; central door locking fitted to some doors with remaining ones locked out of use/sealed; livery changed from Network South East to BR multiple unit green. Returned to Swanage for operation Feb 2020. |
