Additional Notes Type D. P 1979 privately, on West Somerset Railway until 1983, then Severn Valley Railway. Sold to GS&WR 1989 and rebuilt as Sleeper for new 'Royal Scotsman': Craigentinny, Millerhill (slightly damaged 28/5/92 hitting stationery LNER 23890 in runaway). Early 2014: ownership transferred to the Belmond Group. As at 02/15: in The Royal Scotsman set. Set allocation updated from BT55 to EC00 along with winter stabling / maintenance transferred from Carnforth to Arlington Fleet Services Limited at Eastleigh. 2019: arrangements further updated - The Royal Scotsman now based at Assenta Rail, Earnock Sidings / E.G.Steele site, Hamilton. 29/04/24: was removed from The Royal Scotsman train at Millerhill Yard and replaced with Pullman BRE 316 (qv); 99961 conveyed from Millerhill to Assenta Rail, Hamilton for storage / conversion.
