Additional Notes Original Taff Vale Railway 203 7-compartment body built 1889 was scrapped after 1911 Coke Ovens accident. This (new) 3-compartment brake body (3 third compartments, guard's compartment, luggage compartment) built 1912 by Gloucester Carriage and Wagon. Became GWR 1776 in 1926, condemned 1928. To dwelling at Combe Hay, nr Bath. P 1972 Radstock. Eventually to Butetown Industry & Maritime Museum 1978 on ex-GER underframe (Army 82.667 - qv)(see first additional photo below). Moved to storage at Queen Alexandra Dock, Cardiff in 1991, then to Swansea and finally to National Museums and Galleries of Wales Collection Store, Nantgarw. Body, floor, roof intact. Some panels missing. One ducket broken off during this time and much metalwork stolen at some point. Agreement to return into care of original owners (private) and then subsequently accepted by East Somerset Railway. Moved there 18/02/2026.
