Additional Notes One of 700 built 1886 to 1896 - this one built 1890 (deduced from interior detail). Sold to Brecon & Merthyr Tydfil Junction Railway 1920 (No 112) as one of eight third class carriages of same design. Absorbed by GWR in 1923 (renumbered 4318). Body sold out of service 1925 Became cafe on A30 at Pathfinder Village (west of Exeter) until late 1970s, when it was acquired for a garden shed in Blackford, Somerset. Donated for restoration 2007 and moved to Midsomer Norton. Fully sheeted by 08/09. From 20/12/10: now mounted on chassis from LMS CCT 5012 (body of which had been scrapped - qv), and this chassis has, in turn, also now been identified as being from earlier MR 6-wheel carriage 1753 (qv); it was re-used when 5012 was built in 1932. By 04/18: restoration/rebuild actively under way. 06/20: moved from Midsomer Norton to East Somerset Railway. 03/26: restoration work progresses.
