| Additional Notes |
Discovered 2019 during clearance of a garden near Bridge, Kent, where it had been for more than 50 years. Investigations of the part body after recovery indicate a SER carriage - either 6-wheel 5-compartment 2nd built 1880 - 1882 or 6- wheel 6-compartment 3rd built 1883 - 1887 - more likely the latter from dimensions of the three remaining compartments and traces of half height seating. It is hoped that investigation of doors may confirm identity. Intention is to restore one compartment to original condition, with the others housing educational displays relating to the Elham Valley line and a small classroom with disabled access. Any assistance with identification would be welcomed. |
